I am currently experiencing something which I haven’t experienced for a very long time. I am riding a real life, honest to god, long-distance train.
I was hit by todays strike, which basically canceled my flight back. Okay … basically it was my own damn fault, that I had to take todays flight, but I didn’t learn about the strike until late yesterday, at which point it was to late to do any more countermeasures except maybe … pray. I chose, not to do that, maybe I should’ve.
Well … anyway … now I’m sitting on a train, after having nearly choked on hearing the price for this particular train-ride. It has once again been proven to me, that trains are far more expensive than planes (for me). I was, however, positively surprised to find a power-socket right next to my chosen seat. Along with a table, which I don’t use anymore, after it upset my HDD, which crashed my Laptop. Mobile reception in trains still sucks, though. But in all fairness one has to say it beats the no reception on planes.
WLAN-Access would be just perfect, because then I could sensibly use the remaining hour until I have to switch trains (05.03.2008 11:48). But oh hell … I can continue adding stuff to this entry can’t I?
Sensible enough, I guess.
Across from me is a rather … well proportioned “female” about who I have the suspicion of not having been born as such. It took a while to notice all the very small signs which combined formed this impression. Some things can be just … well … too perfect.
Not even sure if we could actually converse in some joint language…
Right now (05.03.2008 12:01) is AFAIK the first time in my life that I am in the “Ruhrpott”. Well … technically I am only passing through, but … this should count, shouldn’t it? I tried to meet up with Lu for a however long our stop in D would have been, but the timing and shortness of the stop precluded that.
I’m not exactly sure what I expected from a bloody fucking expensive ICE. I guess … 4 (!!!) people trying to serve 10 people is just to damn taxing … oh, wait … I know of a … means of travel in which … 3 people manage to serve 130 … now where did that happen again? Had I not had to use the bloody train, I’d rather have died than pay for this bunch of misfits!
We accumulated 10 Minutes of delay, but where able to make most of that good. So I actually managed to get to work in time, which I guess is good for my colleagues, and bad for me.
Why is it, that apparently people who consider thinking while walking a nearly unsurmountable task always seek me out? Why is it illegal to smack them in the face till they activate their brains? I’d be doing society a favor!
